Hello
My name is Nathan Wood, and I am a woodworking artisan. I am originally from Ohio but have been living in California for the past eight years. Here, I've been given the opportunity to customize furniture and other carpentry projects for my family, community, and clients.
Together with my wife, we founded Maple & Cypress Cabinetry, a family business that blends traditional craftsmanship with a love for meaningful design.
Our Story
Back in Ohio, as the sixth of thirteen children, I was raised on a small farm in a town called Antrim. I remember being about five years old when my brothers and I were handed a hammer and nails to help with the remodeling of our house. Since then, I've developed basic construction skills in plumbing, electrical work, and construction, but I have a special interest in carpentry and have always dreamed of having a woodshop.
After living in a beautiful cove on Catalina Island for the past three years where we've been raising our daughter, my wife and I decided it was time to start our company and return to serve the people on the mainland.
We feel deeply for the families who lost their homes to the fires earlier this year, and we hope to contribute to rebuilding our communities.
